The big REVEAL!!

The cat's out of the bag!!!! [FINALLY]

The next little bambino Gambino will be....

A BOYYYYY!!!! :] 

We are over the moon excited!
When we were trying to decide on names we had one picked out for a girl but could not decide on a boy name!
I searched and searched and Benjamin and I would share different names with each other, but nothing.

Then about a week before our gender reveal ultra sound a name came up that jumped off of the page at me!
It was his name.
I called Benjamin and shared it with him and he felt the same way!!
This was our boy's name.
All I could think of that week was about a boy named this sweet name.
The name we had for a girl didn't even compare to how I felt about this name.
It was crazy.
When we went into to our ultra sound I just knew what we would see and sure enough, there was a sweet little boy inside of my womb, blessed by the Lord.
Benjamin and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes and knew it was our little....

Gideon Joel

The origin of the name Gideon is Hebrew and it means GREAT WARRIOR and the origin of the name Joel is Hebrew as well and it means Jehovah is God.
I truly believe God gave us this name and I love what it means. 
We CANNOT wait to meet this sweet little man!

We had so much fun but it was extremely hard keeping the secret until the party!
We slipped several times during the week we were in Texas but thankfully no one caught it :] .

These dear little souls...

This past week I noticed it had been quiet upstairs for a while and I knew Sailor had been playing during "nap time" instead of napping.
He plays really well on his own so he doesn't mind having "quiet time" for an hour or so in his room while Judah naps and I rest on the couch downstairs.
Considering the silence, I became a bit worried and decided to check on him.
When I opened the door I didn't see him anywhere and then I noticed the hanging blanket.
I had seen him do this the other day when I went up to get him out of "nap time".
I peeked under the blanket and this is what I found.
I quickly ran down to get my camera because this HAD to be documented.
The sweetest, cutest, most hilarious thing to see!!

This kid...
2 has been a hard year of growing and learning for the both of us but has also brought us closer than ever creating such a sweet momma/son relationship that I so desire with him.
He will be 3 at the end of this month and it just gets better and better with him.
He can be one of the cutest, funniest little beings to ever live, but of course he has his occasional [okay more than occasional] melt downs.
I am learning so much about how the Lord desires us to parent our children and trying hard to glean from other godly mothers who have walked down this road successfully [in my eyes according to scripture].
I really enjoyed this blog post about it!
It had several great practical tips to implement and also a few good reminders.
I am learning how to love well, be patient, and have self control like never before.

Recently we decided on a change that has been a wonderful blessing to our family.
We have always had Judah in corporate worship with us when we gather with our church family. A few months back Benjamin and I thought it would be a great idea to have Sailor join us as well. We loved the affect it was having on Judah. He loves to "sing" along with the songs and raise his little hands in the air. We really wanted to expose Sailor to this as well. So far, Sailor has loved every moment of it and ALWAYS asks on the way to church if we are going to "songs" [corporate worship].

Ever since then while riding in the car he has become extremely attentive to the music we are listening to.
We mostly listen to K-LOVE and he ALWAYS knows and asks, "Mommy, these Jesus songs?" and as soon as I confirm yes he is back there singing along and raising his little arms to the sky.

It has been one of the most precious things I have had the privilege to experience as a Momma to date.
My greatest heart's desire is that my children would come to know the Lord at a young age and follow Him all the days of their lives. An unhindered, undiluted devotion to Christ.

Mommas and Daddies.... I so encourage you to start bringing your children into corporate worship time. It has blessed us incredibly.

And this little guy!!!
He is the sweetest baby! [well toddler now]
He is now almost 16 months old and each month gets sweeter and sweeter.
His newest thing is to give me TONS of hugs and kisses all day long. [Maybe not his newest thing, he has been doing it for a couple months now]
HEAVEN for this momma.
It is love reciprocated from the little being you have so tenderly cared for since birth.
What a great reward!
He has his little melt downs as well, but through them I have learned how to be loving and gentle in my responses to Sailor.
Funny, I feel like I am learning backwards...
This kid teaches me so much about being the momma God wants me to be.
I can't imagine what the next little one will bring.

18 weeks, can it be???

This pregnancy is FLYING by.
Am I really already 18 weeks??
I think my first pregnancy seemed like forever because I was sick for so long.
This time, like I have said before, has been a breeze.
[THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!]

Seriously though, I am incredibly thankful to have not been puking my guts out this time all day every day.
It surely takes a toll on your body and I am thankful to be healthy and feeling good.

How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain: 6lbs
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Some nights good, some not so good.
Best moment this week: Taking Judah to get his FIRST haircut!! [pictures to come!]
Miss anything? Being able to drink more than one cup of coffee or tea.
Movement: Yes and able to feel the baby with my hand as well.
Food cravings: Hardees breakfast biscuits EVERY morning. YUM. 
Anything making you queasy or sick? Sweets :[
Gender: Known, but a secret!
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: A little nausea occasionally.
Showing? Yes! 
Belly button in our out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Super emotional this past week, cried A LOT.

Sweet summer moments...

Summer has been sweet here in Kentucky.
We have had really great weather for the most part and have been able to be outside almost everyday!
Today I thought about how I hadn't taken many photos yet and the summer is coming to an end.
I decided to pull out my cruddy camera and snap a few sweet moments today.

Ugh.... that last photo!!! Melt my heart!!!

16 weeks! And a few lyrics and thoughts...

This morning while we gathered with our church family we sang a song that always resonates with my soul so powerfully.
My favorite part is the bridge and I wanted to share the lyrics here because this is my HOPE in Christ.

"The veil is torn, and now I live with the Spirit inside. The same One, the VERY same One that brought the Son back to life. Hallelujah He lives in me!"
-Mercy Me, "You are I Am"

Understanding what it means that the veil was torn is HUGE.
It means that I no longer have to go before a priest but can enter into the throne room of God on my own. The spirit that was behind the veil now lives inside of me because of what Jesus did on the cross for us all. Hallelujah!!! We have complete access to the one and only HOLY God if you have Christ living in your heart. Thank you Jesus!!

It seems silly now to go on and post this but at the same time not because there is a miracle growing inside of my womb. A precious gift, a reward from God Himself. We had the privilege of finding out what we are having yesterday and I am so anxious to share the news with you and how God had revealed the name to me a week before. Such an incredible story to share with you all!! Unfortunately you will have to wait a few more weeks because we are planning on sharing this wonderful news with our sweet family in Texas through a gender reveal party that I am so excited about.
For now, here is a quick update on what is going on with me and baby!!

Dress: Old Navy [$19?], Cardi: Holister [Hand-me-down]

How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain: Not sure! I have another appointment with my midwife this Tuesday so I will know for sure then :]
Maternity clothes? Yes, finally able to wear them and feel comfortable. 
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Restless
Best moment this week: Finding out whether our baby is a he or she!
Miss anything? Eating onions, may sound weird but if you really know me you know I eat them like apples with certain foods :] [I'm weird and I get it from my momma]
Movement: Yes, for sure this time! The night before our ultra sound I unmistakably felt the baby on my left side and that is where the ultra sound tech found the baby the next day. So fun!
Food cravings: Hardees breakfast biscuits EVERY morning. YUM. 
Anything making you queasy or sick? For now, no
Gender: Known, but a secret!
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: Headaches off and on
Showing? Yes! 
Belly button in our out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Feeling really good!
Looking forward to: Our trip to Texas and the party!

15 Weeks!

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain: I think 2 lbs?
Maternity clothes? Yes, finally able to wear them and feel comfortable. 
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Pretty good.
Best moment this week: Scheduling our gender reveal ultra sound!
Miss anything? No
Movement: Maybe... I think I felt something the other day but still kinda early to tell.
Food cravings: Cottage cheese with tomato, cucumber, salt, and pepper
Anything making you queasy or sick? The smell of onions/eating them.
Gender: Unknown
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: Still have headaches
Showing? Yes! 
Belly button in our out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Super emotional today! 
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender next Saturday. We aren't going to reveal it until I am about 20 weeks though. We are planning a gender reveal party with our Texas family when we go down there in a few weeks!!

13 weeks, 2 days

This post is late, but oh well!

Messy braid, yoga pants, and a sweet tank I found at JC Penney's for under a buck!

How far along? 13 weeks, 3 days [took the pic yesterday]
Total weight gain: I think 2 lbs?
Maternity clothes? No, they make me feel like I am going to throw up so avoiding them until absolutely necessary 
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Restless around 1 am.
Best moment this week: My midwife giving me the go ahead to eat homemade banana ice cream!! MADE MY DAY.
Miss anything? not really
Movement: No
Food cravings: Tomatoes seem to be pretty constant.
Anything making you queasy or sick? The smell of onions/eating them.
Gender: Unknown
Labor signs: None
Symptoms: Nausea, acne, headaches... though the acne seems to be getting better and the headaches are as well because I am trying to drink more water.
Showing? Yes! 
Belly button in our out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty happy and sappy! :]
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!
